Long Range Plan

In 2010 the Facility Vision Team, which included teachers, community members, and administrators began the task of identifying how to make the facilities suitable for the growing number of students in our district. Through this process a long range plan was created as a road map for the development of future facilities based on vision and need. Faced with this challenge the Facility Vision Team recommended the Board of Education take three actions: (1) build a new High School to provide a safe and secure learning environment for students and staff to develop academically and professionally, and to provide adequate space, (2) renovate the current High School to become the Lansing Middle School, thereby providing more room at the Middle School level and (3) build a suitable athletic facilities at the new High School, including competition swimming pool for P.E. classes, swimming competitions, and diving competitions.

Construction Process

January 2013 the construction process began. Hollis + Miller Architects began facilitating the Schematic Design Process with the Facility Design Team, which includes teachers, staff, community members, and district administrators. Upon approval by the Board of Education the project will move forward to focus on design development, construction planning, bidding and contract awards and finally breaking ground on the construction site fall of 2013. The new High School is projected to be complete summer of 2015. As the project moves forward please check this page for site developments and pictures.
